ReSkate Mods — Install, Manage & Troubleshoot
Find skate. mods for ReSkate, read what each changes, and install one at a time. These are source-reviewed examples, not gameplay-tested recommendations or a popularity ranking.
Choose what you want to change
ReSkate merges mod content into the game when it launches. Its documented content types include custom maps, loading screens, cosmetics and scripts. Thunderstore groups packages into categories such as Maps, Cosmetics, Camera Mods, Audio and Tools. A category tells you the kind of change; it does not establish that the package is safe or compatible.
If you searched for skate 4 mods, these instructions concern the Steam game titled skate. and the ReSkate project. They are not instructions for console skate. releases, Skate 2 or Skate 3 executables. A map port from an older game is optional content for this setup.
Three mods to research first
Each entry points to its author’s Thunderstore listing. Package requirements can change; read the current listing and its changelog before installing. We selected different kinds of content to show what to check, rather than claiming these are the best mods.
South Florida
A street map adapted from B-Row’s Skater XL map. The author specifies ReSkate v1.1+ for the supported game build and about 1.5 GB of space. The listing notes loading problems on some 4 GB graphics cards; no Deck performance result is claimed here.
MAP / BRASSYSkate2Map
New San Vanelona with fast-travel points. The author distinguishes an optimised 1.0.6 package from newer versions for stronger hardware, and notes remaining collision issues. No minimum ReSkate client version is specified in the reviewed description; check the launcher’s build compatibility message.
COSMETICS / KORRECTMODDINGKorrects Cybernetic Pack
Eight techwear items for tops, bottoms, shoes and hats. Requires Steam skate. on a supported ReSkate build. The author warns that packs adding new items may interfere with each other; test one enabled pack at a time if items disappear.
Install through the ReSkate launcher
Open ReSkateLauncher.exe and go to MODS. The project documents browsing Thunderstore there, or dragging a mod ZIP or folder onto the launcher window. Read the package’s required dependencies and any manual instructions first; do not assume every ZIP is a player client or a compatible mod.
After the plain game starts successfully, enable one package and repeat your baseline check. For a map, confirm it appears in the expected map list described by the author. For cosmetics, look in the relevant equipment slot. If the content is absent, first check whether the launcher skipped it with a build or merge message.
- Read the author, description, requirements and known issues.
- Download or select the actual package from its original listing.
- Use MODS in the launcher, or the documented ZIP/folder drag-and-drop method.
- Start a clean session with only that optional package enabled.
- Keep the exact result and any skipped-mod message before adding another package.
Manual folders: follow the package author
The project’s mod location is Mods\<mod name>\ beside Skate.exe, and Mods\mods.json records ordering. Avoid an extra extracted wrapper folder that hides the actual mod files. Do not overwrite the client DLL with an unrelated file from a package.
For example, South Florida’s author documents Mods\South-Florida\ with reskate-levels.json directly in that folder. That exact layout belongs to that package; it is not a universal file list for every mod. Follow your selected author’s layout if it differs.
Enable, disable and troubleshoot conflicts
In the game, press the configured menu key (Insert by default) and open MODS. The README says this tab turns mods on and off and applies changes; most changes can apply without restarting. An individual package may need different handling, so follow its author’s notes.
ReSkate checks the game build a mod was made for. It skips outdated content or packages it cannot merge cleanly, with a message naming them. A skipped package is not evidence that every other installed mod is broken. Read the named package’s version and dependencies before changing load order.
If a crash started after adding a package, disable that package and repeat the same launch. If two packages work separately but fail together, record the exact combination and order. Remove or disable one at a time; reinstalling the entire game first discards useful clues.
Can I remove mods? Could they affect my account?
Disable the mod in the documented menu and follow the author’s removal instructions. For a manually installed package, identify its own folder before deleting it. Back up relevant saves first: removal may change how content referenced by a profile behaves, and this site has not checked every package’s persistence.
This guide cannot guarantee that a package is safe, that a map port has every necessary permission, or that unofficial software will have no account consequences. Downloading from an original source lets you inspect provenance; it does not replace reading the author’s requirements or evaluating your own risk. Custom scripts can execute code, as the project README explicitly warns.
